Print finishing and bindery turns printed sheets into finished products through cutting, folding, laminating, die-cutting and binding. MPI Print offers perfect, PUR, saddle-stitch, Wire-O and hardcover binding plus premium finishing such as foil, embossing and raised spot UV, all done in-house at its Mount Forest, Ontario facility.
What is the difference between saddle stitching and perfect binding?
Saddle stitching staples folded sheets through the centre fold and is cost-effective for lower page counts such as brochures, magazines and booklets. Perfect binding glues pages to a wrap-around cover with a square spine, and suits paperbacks, catalogues and thick manuals.
Does finishing add significantly to the turnaround time?
Because finishing is done in the same facility as printing, there is no freight or hand-off between suppliers. Processes such as foiling, die-cutting or hardcover binding add production steps, so give us your finishing requirements up front and we will build them into the schedule.
What types of lamination do you offer?
We offer gloss, matte and soft-touch lamination to protect printed surfaces and improve the feel of your materials.
Do you offer PUR and hardcover binding?
Yes. In addition to perfect binding, saddle stitching and Wire-O, we offer PUR binding and hardcover binding.
